A Note from the Artist


The First Gate represents the kind of moment that made me fall in love with photography - the moment when an ordinary walk becomes something worth remembering. I was drawn to the way the torii framed what lay beyond it, almost like an invitation to cross from one world into another. For me, this image holds that feeling of curiosity: standing at the entrance, not quite knowing what waits on the other side, but eager to step through anyway.
